Group Vacations: The More the Merrier!

Planning a family reunion or large group cruise? We Can Help!

Imagine taking your group or family reunion vacation to new and exciting destinations. Unpack once and see the beauty of destinations that most people only dream about.

We can’t wait to help you plan your next group vacation. Now, what exactly is considered a group? For a land only vacation (tours, resorts, etc.), it’s usually 10 or more guests. For a cruise, it’s typically 8 or more cabins. Here are some examples of groups that we can help:

*Fundraisers (Churches, Non-Profit Organizations)

*School, Family or Friend Reunions

*Special Interests or Affinity Groups (Scrapbooking, Gourmet Cooking, Golf and Seniors, just to name a few)

This information will be sent along with their deposit confirmation.

Dining arrangements: We can recommend and make dining reservations for your entire group at no extra cost.

Planning a family reunion or large group cruise requires you to get started at least twelve months in advance depending on the number of guests. Cruise ships have a limited amount of staterooms that can accommodate larger families, so planning in advance is a must. Booking them ahead of time will secure enough space for everyone in your group. You can also ask for connecting rooms for families with smaller kids.

Make sure you have at least 8 couples or 10 people ready to go! It is very important that you have a pre-formed group that’s ready to go on vacation. We will need some assurances that you have an expressed interest from the group that they want to go on vacation or a history of group travel.

Make sure you know the type of vacation your group wants. This includes budget, dates, length of cruise and destinations. Poll some of your key group members in advance. You will be responsible for any expenses incurred if it becomes necessary to change ships, sailing dates, or itineraries once we block space and begin promoting the cruise.

At the time we block space for your group, we will need the deposit for at least one cabin. We’ll look at deposits in more detail below.

Cruise Rates and Early Booking: Be advised that the earlier you book your group, the lower you can expect the rates to be and the better the selection of available cabins. Early booking also allows more time for your group members to save up for their cruise payments and allows our promotional efforts to spread by word of mouth to more potential cruisers.

Deposits and Group Space Deposits: Group space requirements vary from cruise line to cruise line. Most lines will allow us to block and hold group space undeposited for 30 days. At any point after this time, the cruise line can take away any undeposited cabins that we have in our group block. If it becomes necessary to add cabins to a group, we will have to add them at the current group rate (which is most often at a higher rate than the cabins booked earlier). Most cruise lines require a relatively inexpensive initial deposit of around $50 per person to hold a cabin. At a future date (usually about 4-6 months prior to sailing), a second larger deposit (usually $200 - $250) is due. The remainder is usually due about 70 days prior to sailing.

Just keep in mind that this is a partnership where everyone wins! If you’re serious about your group’s cruise, then so are we. And we’re willing to give it our all. Ready? Let’s get started!
